Avery is 10!

Happy Birthday to my sweet boy Avery! He has turned ten and had a very exciting birthday. He had been counting down the days for a couple of weeks. He woke up at 2am and came in our room and said, It's my birthday now. We congratulated him and sent him back to bed. We let him get up at 7 and open his presents before he had to go to school. After school he ran home quickly to start building his new legos. That evening we went to dinner at TGI Fridays. He wanted to go there and have Dan as his server like Aiden did on his birthday. They were really busy since it was Guy Fawkes day and lots of people go there for birthdays and such. We may not have gotten quite as much attention from our server as usual but he was still good and fun. Avery was very proud to stand on his chair and have everyone sing to him. He took candy bars from Iceland to school to share with his class. It was a hit. By the end of the week all of his new legos were built and the beach house which can be built three ways had already been built twice. He likes the creator sets that can build several things. He is sleeping with his Pikachu and wearing his Pokemon hat and glove all of the time.

Saturday we had two of his school friends come over and I took them to Magicland to play for a couple of hours. I also let Aiden come since he really wanted to and he had done a lot of chores that morning. Lidia and Tristan had not done any chores or homework yet so Cory stayed home with them. The boys had fun playing and eating cotton candy or candy floss as they say here. They love watching it be made in the vending machine and it's only one pound. After that we came home and had pizza, cupcakes, and ice cream and did some fireworks and let them play a bit more before their parents came to get them. Then we walked over to St Eds primary school for Bonfire night. They had a huge bonfire and then a cool fireworks show. The nice thing about a Fall fireworks display instead of a summer one is that they can start a lot earlier. This one started at 7:30. It could have earlier but the bonfire was lit at 6:30. I remember as a kid going to 4th of july fireworks and it not starting till about ten. Avery said he loves fireworks. We were lucky it rained earlier in the day and not that evening. From up on the hill we could see fireworks going all over town before the ones at the school started. The kids thought it was a bit fun and creepy to walk through the allotment at night in the dark. It was a fun busy day.
